Yantra Drawing & Painting
Workshop
September 27, 28 2025
Harbin Hot Springs, Middletown CA
Discover the sacred art of yantra creation, a tantric tool for meditation that fosters your artistic and spiritual growth. No prior experience needed,
step-by-step guidance will be provided.
Yantras are sacred geometric diagrams, revered in tantric traditions, serving as meditative tools that channel divine energy for inner harmony and spiritual growth. Each yantra embodies a deity’s form—such as Laxmi, Ganesh, Shiva—its structure centering on a bindu (focal point) paired with a bija mantra (sacred sound) to unite mind and spirit. When a yantra is adopted for worship, the practitioner must abandon their critical/analytical mind and the yantra becomes the dwelling place of the deity by whose name it is known.
The geometrical pattern of the yantra when combined with its mantra, engages both the brain hemispheres — visual (right) and verbal (left) — equally and at the same time, establishing a union (yoga) of the two opposites. Since the yantra is a symbolic projection of a deity, meditating on the yantra in this state leads to attunement with the energy and consciousness of that particular deity.
The act of drawing and painting yantras teaches the mind to concentrate and become one-pointed, reaching a state of centeredness. In this workshop, you’ll create Ganesh and Laxmi yantras, invoking Ganesha’s obstacle-removing wisdom and Laxmi’s blessings of prosperity and abundance.
